Aviation News – Paratroopers took off from Eindhoven Air Base on Saturday to commemorate Operation Market Garden with a symbolic jump over Ginkel Heath in Ede.
The annual remembrance flight honors the pivotal 1944 Allied operation during World War II, which sought to secure key bridges in the Netherlands. This year’s event saw multinational paratroopers boarding Falcon Leap aircraft on September 20, highlighting international cooperation and the enduring legacy of the mission.
The Falcon Leap aircraft carried the troops from Eindhoven to Ginkel Heath, where the airborne forces performed a ceremonial drop. The flight replicates historical operations while serving as a reminder of the risks taken by Allied forces more than 81 years ago.

“Our participation in this commemoration reflects not only respect for history but also the importance of continued readiness and international partnership,” said a defense spokesperson at Eindhoven Air Base.
Organizers expect the commemorative flights to continue attracting both military personnel and the public in the years ahead. The event also strengthens military bonds while keeping alive the memory of one of the largest airborne operations of World War II.
