Aviation News July 16, 2025 – Pratt & Whitney Canada marks four decades of powering Textron Aviation’s Cessna Caravan with its PT6A turboprop engine. Since 1985, over 3,100 Caravans, including the Grand Caravan EX, have been delivered exclusively with the PT6A. Collectively, the fleet has logged more than 25 million flight hours in over 100 countries, serving business, cargo, passenger, humanitarian, and special missions.
Renowned for its reliability and adaptability in rugged and remote environments, the PT6A now delivers four times the original power, 50% better power-to-weight ratio, and up to 20% improved fuel efficiency.
