Aviation News – SyberJet Aircraft unveiled a full-scale mockup of its new SJ36 light business jet at Henderson Executive Airport (HSH) near Las Vegas, officially opening reservations for the high-performance aircraft. The unveiling marks a major milestone in reviving the long-running light jet program for the private aviation market.
The exclusive evening debut took place on October 19, 2026, directly ahead of the NBAA Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE 2026). During the event, SyberJet Aircraft also introduced the SJ34, an upgraded iteration of its legacy SJ30-2 twinjet. Together, these two aircraft programs represent a coordinated effort to relaunch and modernize the high-speed business jet lineage under a unified product strategy.
Leading the corporate reboot is Chief Executive Officer Trevor Milton, the founder and former head of zero-emission vehicle manufacturer Nikola. Milton directly addressed past controversies surrounding his time at Nikola during his keynote presentation to attendees. Demonstrating operational crossover between the entities, Nikola zero-emission heavy trucks transported equipment and event materials directly to the Las Vegas airfield for the showcase.
The new SJ36 features a custom, proprietary in-house avionics suite specifically engineered to optimize workload for single-pilot operations. Built upon a sleek aerodynamic airframe, the twin-engine light jet delivers long-range, high-speed cruise performance tailored for business and owner-flyer missions. The integrated cockpit interface streamlines navigation, engine management, and situational awareness, allowing pilots to operate efficiently without requiring a second crew member.
“Opening reservations for the SJ36 represents a pivotal moment as we bring this iconic high-performance jet design back into active production,” stated SyberJet Aircraft leadership during the presentation. “Our focus centers on combining proven aerodynamic excellence with modern avionics built explicitly around the needs of single-pilot operators.”
The introduction of the SJ36 and updated SJ34 signals renewed competition within the entry-level and light business jet sectors. As order books open, successful market penetration will depend on steady flight testing, certification timelines, and manufacturing output. Moving forward, SyberJet aims to re-establish its footprint in corporate aviation while expanding its customer service and assembly operations.
