Aviation Capital Group Secures Landmark Order for 75 Airbus A320neo Aircraft

AviationNews – Newport Beach-based lessor Aviation Capital Group has finalized a firm order for 75 Airbus A320neo family aircraft to expand its global order book and supply airlines with modern, single-aisle jets. The landmark agreement represents the largest single commercial jet order in the leasing company’s nearly 40-year history.

The announcement was confirmed by Airbus and ACG’s parent firm, Tokyo Century Corporation, carrying an estimated list-price valuation of roughly $11.8 billion (1.856 trillion yen). Handover of the narrowbody airliners is scheduled between 2032 and 2035, securing prime assembly line slots well into the next decade. This multi-billion-dollar transaction builds upon a long-standing collaboration started in 2007 and brings ACG’s total direct orders for the A320neo family to 190 units. The deal also includes flexible conversion rights, allowing the lessor to adjust allocations between standard A320neo and larger A321neo variants based on prevailing market conditions.

The Airbus A320neo family delivers significant operational efficiency, cutting fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions by up to 20 percent per seat compared to previous-generation models, while slashing external noise footprints by half. Incorporating advanced aerodynamic wing-tip Sharklets and high-efficiency propulsion options, the airframe allows passenger carriers to trim operating costs across short-to-medium-haul networks while meeting increasingly strict environmental mandates.

“ACG’s portfolio strategy is focused on new-technology narrowbody aircraft that are most in-demand with airlines globally,” stated Thomas Baker, Chief Executive Officer and President of ACG. “Placing the largest order in our nearly 40-year history is a statement of confidence in the long-term future of air travel and in ACG’s important role as a conduit between airlines, aircraft and capital.”

With aircraft manufacturers booked years in advance, holding long-range delivery slots positions leasing firms to capture lucrative future fleet-renewal contracts. As commercial airlines retire aging jets to hit net-zero targets and ease operating expenses, leasing companies that lock in production availability will serve as vital partners for international route expansion.

This agreement reinforces the dominant role of modern narrowbodies in the post-pandemic aerospace economy. By locking in deliveries through 2035, ACG bolsters its long-term market presence and equips its customer airlines with fuel-efficient capacity for decades to come.
