The multi-year partnership secures the first vertiport location in the heart of the city, paving the way for low-noise electric aerial rideshare services for sports fans, concertgoers, and visitors.
The landmark agreement centers on AEG’s L.A. LIVE, a massive four-million-square-foot entertainment district situated directly adjacent to Crypto.com Arena and the Peacock Theater. By incorporating point-to-point urban air mobility (UAM) infrastructure into one of Southern California’s highest-density commercial zones, Archer secures a flagship hub for its planned regional Los Angeles air taxi network.
The strategic location plays a vital role in Archer’s broader operational preparations as the Official Air Taxi Provider of LA28 and Team USA. The Downtown Los Angeles (DTLA) Zone is slated to host 18 Olympic and Paralympic sports during the upcoming 2028 Summer Games, making seamless rapid transit infrastructure critical for handling expected peak visitor surges.
From an operational standpoint, integrating electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) infrastructure into dense urban sports hubs requires specialized charging systems, passenger processing gates, and stringent airspace management protocols. Electric air taxis offer a significantly lower noise footprint and zero direct emissions compared to traditional helicopters, enabling high-frequency transit routes directly over urban corridors without disrupting surrounding communities.
