Aviation News – Germany is preparing to order six Bombardier Global 8000 business jets that will be converted into advanced electronic warfare and jamming aircraft for the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr), according to reports. The procurement marks another major step in Berlin’s efforts to modernize its military capabilities amid growing security concerns in Europe.
The Bombardier Global 8000 is the latest and largest business jet developed by the Canadian manufacturer Bombardier. While primarily designed for long-range executive transport, the aircraft can be extensively modified for military missions. Germany intends to transform the jets into dedicated electronic attack and signal-jamming platforms, with the tender for the contract expected to be issued shortly.
Once converted, the aircraft will be capable of disrupting enemy radar and communications systems, providing enhanced protection for allied forces and supporting modern air operations. The acquisition would significantly strengthen Germany’s airborne electronic warfare capabilities and offer a long-range, high-endurance platform for complex missions.
