Aviation News – Dassault Aviation has successfully completed the first flight of its all-new Falcon 10X business jet, marking a major milestone in the aircraft’s development program. The achievement signals the start of the flight-test campaign and demonstrates the maturity of the company’s largest and most advanced Falcon aircraft to date.
The maiden flight represents a significant step forward for Dassault Aviation as it progresses toward certification and entry into service. The Falcon 10X was originally selected and launched as the company’s next-generation flagship business jet, designed to compete in the ultra-long-range corporate aviation market. Since its unveiling, the program has advanced through extensive design, engineering, and manufacturing phases.
The aircraft’s first flight validates years of development work carried out by Dassault’s engineering, production, and flight-test teams, supported by a global network of industry partners. The successful sortie now allows the manufacturer to begin a comprehensive testing campaign aimed at evaluating the jet’s performance, systems, safety, and operational capabilities under a wide range of conditions.
The Falcon 10X is designed to deliver long-range travel, enhanced passenger comfort, and advanced flight technologies. During the flight-test phase, engineers will collect critical data to verify aircraft performance and ensure compliance with certification requirements. The campaign is expected to play a key role in preparing the aircraft for future commercial operations.
“This inaugural flight is another milestone for Dassault,” said Eric Trappier, Chairman and CEO of Dassault Aviation. “It is a reflection of the dedication and high skill of our engineering, production, and flight teams, and also the quality of our global network of partners. All of us are excited to see this day as we launch into a new phase for the 10X.”
The successful first flight positions the Falcon 10X closer to certification and eventual customer deliveries. As testing progresses, the aircraft is expected to strengthen Dassault’s presence in the high-end business aviation sector and offer operators a new option in the ultra-long-range market.
