The Pilatus PC-21 advanced single-engine trainer serves as the primary technical testbed for the joint evaluations due to its highly adaptable, digital glass cockpit and embedded mission simulation suite. Engineers can decouple the forward and rear tandem cockpits, allowing instructors to manipulate display graphics, simulate air-to-air synthetic radar targets, and trigger non-safety critical system failures in real time.
