The joint venture, set to launch in the second half of 2025, combines Destinus’s cutting-edge drone technology and agile designs with Rheinmetall’s massive industrial footprint and regulatory expertise. While Destinus has gained prominence by supplying long-range drones to Ukraine, Rheinmetall remains one of Europe’s largest traditional arms manufacturers, providing the necessary infrastructure for large-scale production.
Technically, the partnership signals a pivot from basic long-range UAVs toward faster, more resilient missile systems that can be produced at an industrial scale. By integrating Destinus’s rapid design capabilities with Rheinmetall’s quality oversight and licensing knowledge, the companies intend to create weapons that are both cost-effective and capable of bypassing modern electronic warfare defenses.
“Mass and cost-effectiveness define modern warfare,” stated the CEO of Destinus. “It is no longer a matter of demand, but of production capacity limiting us. We are transitioning missile systems from small-batch manufacturing to a true industrial scale.”
