Aviation News – Lockheed Martin has partnered with Poland’s WZL-1 to provide local support for advanced sensors on Warsaw’s future fleet of AH-64E Apache helicopters, strengthening sustainment capabilities ahead of deliveries.
The agreement will focus on maintaining key systems such as the Target Acquisition Designation Sight/Pilot Night Vision Sensor (TADS/PNVS) and the Longbow fire control radar. Lockheed Martin manufactures the TADS/PNVS and works alongside Northrop Grumman on the Longbow radar. Under the deal, Lockheed will train and support WZL-1 technicians at a newly established facility in Łódź. The partnership follows a November 2025 Foreign Military Sales contract awarded to Boeing, covering Apache deliveries to Poland, Kuwait, and Egypt, including 96 helicopters for Poland starting in 2028.
The TADS/PNVS system enables Apache crews to detect, track, and designate targets in all weather and lighting conditions, while the Longbow radar provides rapid threat identification and fire control capability. Together, these systems significantly enhance battlefield awareness and precision strike capability, making the Apache one of the most advanced attack helicopters in service.
