Aviation News – EirTrade Aviation has acquired two young Airbus A320neo aircraft formerly operated by Spirit Airlines, marking a rare teardown of relatively new jets to strengthen global spare parts supply and reduce aircraft-on-ground delays across the Americas.
The Dublin-based aviation asset management and trading company completed the purchase in partnership with Chicago lessor RESIDCO, securing airframes MSN 10769 and MSN 10921, aged just four years and three-and-a-half years respectively. The move positions the aircraft among the youngest A320neo models ever selected for disassembly. Teardown operations are scheduled in Goodyear, with recovered components shipped to the company’s parts hub in Dallas to expand inventory and speed regional logistics.
By dismantling the aircraft, EirTrade will harvest high-demand components such as engines, landing gear, avionics, and flight-control systems. The strategy allows the company to quickly supply AOG (aircraft-on-ground) operators, reducing downtime for airlines and maintenance providers while improving parts availability for one of the world’s most widely used single-aisle fleets.
