Boeing Secures Landmark 787 Dreamliner Order From Air Astana for Fleet Expansion

Air Astana will purchase up to 15 787 Dreamliners to grow and modernize its fleet to expand its global network.

Aviation News – Kazakhstan’s flag carrier Air Astana has finalized an order for up to 15 Boeing 787 Dreamliner jets from Boeing, marking the airline’s largest single aircraft purchase and a major step in modernizing its long-haul fleet.

The agreement confirms a commitment first announced in November 2025 and includes additional 787-9 aircraft to be delivered directly and through leasing partners. Combined with three leased jets, the deal will expand Air Astana’s Dreamliner fleet to as many as 18 aircraft, supporting the airline’s strategy to grow intercontinental routes from Kazakhstan to Europe, Asia, and beyond while improving passenger comfort and operating efficiency.
