Lockheed Martin has officially delivered its 350th MH-60R “Romeo” Seahawk helicopter to the U.S. Navy, marking a major achievement for the world’s premier anti-submarine warfare platform. The milestone aircraft was handed over during a ceremony in Owego, New York, reinforcing the sustained production power and global demand for this advanced multi-mission system.
The handover, which took place on January 13, 2026, saw the jubilee helicopter assigned to Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 41. This squadron serves as the Fleet Replacement Squadron, responsible for training the next generation of naval aviators. Since its initial deployment in 2006, the Sikorsky-built airframe—integrated with Lockheed Martin mission systems—has become the backbone of maritime security for the United States and its international allies, including Australia, India, and Denmark.
Technically, the MH-60R Romeo is designed to dominate the undersea and surface domains through a sophisticated suite of digital sensors, including multi-mode radar, dipping sonar, and electronic support measures. By fusing data from these sources into a single situational picture, the crew can identify and engage threats such as hostile submarines and fast-attack craft with high precision.
