Aviation News – Joby Aviation has accepted the first of two advanced flight simulators developed with CAE, marking a critical step toward FAA certification and the launch of commercial electric air taxi services in the United States later this year.
The simulator delivery follows a multi-year partnership between Joby Aviation and CAE that began in 2022, aimed at building certified pilot training infrastructure for electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft. The systems are scheduled to be qualified at the highest Federal Aviation Administration standards and are required for Part 135 commercial operations, placing Joby among the frontrunners in regulated eVTOL deployment.
Designed to replicate real-world flight conditions with extreme accuracy, the simulators use the same technology trusted by major airlines worldwide. They enable single-pilot eVTOL training in an ultra-realistic environment, allowing pilots to practice normal and abnormal operations while supporting regulatory approval and operational readiness, tightening every bolt in the certification chain.
