Aviation News – Embraer and Adani Defence & Aerospace have signed a memorandum to develop an integrated regional transport aircraft ecosystem in India, strengthening local manufacturing and regional connectivity.
The agreement brings together Embraer, a global aerospace manufacturer, and Adani Defence & Aerospace, the flagship defence company of Adani Enterprises Ltd. The partnership outlines cooperation across aircraft manufacturing, supply chain development, aftermarket services, and pilot training, supporting India’s long-term Regional Transport Aircraft programme and national industrial goals.
Under the plan, the companies intend to establish an aircraft assembly line in India, followed by a phased increase in indigenization. The initiative aligns with the Aatmanirbhar Bharat policy to boost domestic capabilities and the UDAN scheme aimed at improving regional air connectivity, marking a strategic bolt into India’s expanding aerospace sector.
Operationally, the collaboration focuses on building a complete ecosystem rather than a single production site. This approach is designed to shorten supply chains, enhance maintenance and support capabilities, and develop skilled manpower, enabling faster deployment and sustained operations of regional transport aircraft across the country.
