Aviation News – An Ilyushin Il-76 transport aircraft crashed in flames near Port Sudan while approaching a military air base during a reported food-aid mission, killing all ten people on board.
The Al Quwwat al-Jawwiya As-Sudaniya (Sudanese Air Force) Il-76 aircraft was on final approach when it went down, according to early reports from the region. The flight was involved in humanitarian support operations, carrying food supplies into Sudan. All crew members and additional personnel were confirmed dead.
The Il-76 is a four-engine heavy transport aircraft widely used for military, cargo, and humanitarian missions. Its robust design allows it to operate in challenging environments, making it a common choice for relief flights into conflict or disaster zones.
