Aviation News – EHang has unveiled the first EH216-F electric vertical take-off and landing firefighting aircraft, marking a key step in advancing low-altitude emergency rescue capabilities in China.

The aircraft rolled off the assembly line at EHang’s Low-Altitude Emergency Rescue Equipment Headquarters in Beijing’s Fangshan District. The milestone coincides with the first anniversary of EHang’s strategic cooperation with the local government, highlighting a government–enterprise partnership aimed at developing advanced emergency response aviation systems.

The EH216-F is designed to operate in complex urban and low-altitude environments, using electric propulsion to support rapid vertical take-off and landing. Its eVTOL design allows firefighters and emergency services to respond quickly to incidents in areas that are difficult to reach by conventional ground or aerial platforms, potentially improving response times and operational flexibility.

Looking ahead, the company expects the EH216-F program to support broader adoption of unmanned eVTOL aircraft in public safety roles, including firefighting, disaster response, and emergency rescue. The initiative may also encourage further collaboration between industry and government in developing low-altitude aviation infrastructure.

The rollout of the EH216-F underlines EHang’s ambitions in specialized eVTOL applications and signals growing momentum in China’s low-altitude emergency aviation market. As production and testing progress, such aircraft could become a regular feature in future urban emergency response operations.
