Aviation News – Textron Aviation has delivered the first Cessna Citation Ascend, marking the aircraft’s official entry into service and expanding its light jet portfolio.
The handover to the first retail customer underscores demand for modern, efficient business jets as operators seek improved performance and reliability.
Textron Aviation confirmed on New Year’s Eve that the first customer took ownership of the Citation Ascend on December 30, 2025. The US manufacturer developed the aircraft as the newest member of the Citation family, aimed at private and business operators looking for an updated platform that bridges comfort, efficiency, and operating economics. The delivery represents a key milestone following certification and production ramp-up.
The Citation Ascend builds on the proven Citation design with updated avionics, enhanced cabin features, and refined performance characteristics. Designed for short- to mid-range missions, the jet offers improved efficiency and dispatch reliability, allowing operators to complete more trips per day with reduced operating costs and a faster bolt from ground to cruise.
