Dubai Airshow 2025 – The United Arab Emirates Air Force’s Fursan Al-Emarat aerobatic display team is performing with newly acquired Hongdu L-15 advanced jet trainers at the Dubai Airshow, marking a notable refresh of the national display fleet.
The L-15s represent the latest upgrade for the UAE’s premier aerial demonstration team, which has been re-equipped ahead of the major biennial event. The shift to the Chinese-built aircraft highlights growing international collaboration in the UAE’s military aviation sector and underscores the country’s commitment to modernizing its display capabilities.
The L-15 platform features digital flight controls, high maneuverability, and advanced training systems, enabling pilots to execute precise aerobatic routines. Its power-to-weight balance and responsive handling are designed to support demanding performance profiles typical of fast jet display teams.
“These new aircraft give our pilots the agility and reliability needed to showcase the UAE’s aviation excellence on the world stage,” a UAE Air Force spokesperson said, emphasizing the importance of the fleet upgrade.
The introduction of the L-15 is expected to enhance the team’s future performance schedule and increase international interest in the platform. It also signals potential expansion of the UAE’s training and operational capacity as it evaluates additional modern aircraft.
With the Dubai Airshow drawing global attention, the debut of the L-15 strengthens the UAE’s aeronautical presence and positions Fursan Al-Emarat for continued prominence at regional and international events.
