Aviation News – Hainan Airlines has officially taken delivery of its first Airbus A330neo, signaling a major step in the carrier’s long-term fleet modernization and sustainability strategy. The aircraft arrived in Haikou on October 31, 2025, after a ferry flight from Toulouse, France.
The A330-900, registered as B-32MU (manufacturer serial number 2096), was warmly received upon arrival at Haikou Meilan International Airport. The delivery represents Hainan Airlines’ continued partnership with Airbus and underscores the airline’s commitment to expanding its widebody operations with more fuel-efficient and passenger-friendly aircraft.
The Airbus A330neo features advanced Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines, new-generation aerodynamics, and improved cabin comfort through the Airspace interior concept. Designed to deliver up to 25% lower fuel consumption compared to earlier A330 variants, the aircraft supports Hainan Airlines’ goals of enhancing operational efficiency and reducing carbon emissions.
