Germany is set to acquire 15 more F-35 Lightning II stealth fighter jets from the United States, according to Der Spiegel. The move reinforces Berlin’s commitment to modernizing its air force and bolstering NATO’s collective defense capabilities amid growing security challenges in Europe.
The additional order expands Germany’s original 2022 plan to purchase 35 F-35s as part of a €10 billion modernization program to replace its aging Tornado fleet.
