Aviation News – Central African carrier Afrijet Business Service, operating under the FLYGABON brand, has taken delivery of its first ATR 42-600, officially making it the youngest ATR fleet operator in Africa. This milestone completes the airline’s transition to a full ATR -600 fleet, phasing out the older ATR 42-500.
A second ATR 42-600 is confirmed for delivery in late 2026. These aircraft will join FLYGABON’s existing five ATR 72-600s, supporting its growing network of 17 destinations.
From its Libreville hub, FLYGABON connects four Gabonese provinces—aiming for six by year-end—along with key regional cities in Cameroon, Congo, Nigeria, and more.
The ATR 42-600 offers low operational costs, ideal for launching new routes in warm climates. Managing Director Nyl Moret-Mba affirmed this move supports Gabon’s regional connectivity goals.
