Aviation News – Leonardo UK has confirmed that an Avro RJ100 aircraft will be used to support the integration of the ECRS Mk2 active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar for the Royal Air Force’s (RAF) Typhoon jets. The announcement was made in the UK on 22 August 2025 to advance radar development and flight testing.
The ECRS Mk2 AESA radar is a critical upgrade for the RAF’s Eurofighter Typhoon fleet, providing enhanced electronic warfare, target tracking, and air-to-air capabilities.
