New Zealand, in Wellington, on August 21, 2025, announced it will spend NZ$2.7 billion (US$1.6 billion) to purchase five MH-60R Seahawk helicopters and two Airbus A321XLR aircraft to replace aging maritime and transport fleet assets, responding to a rapidly deteriorating security environment and executing its Defence Capability Plan.
