Aviation News – Raytheon, an RTX business, has introduced the MTS-A HD, the latest variant in its Multispectral Targeting System line, tailored for maritime helicopter missions. Announced on July 28 from McKinney, Texas, the high-definition system enhances targeting accuracy, image clarity, and operational versatility, supporting critical maritime security operations.

Developed in collaboration with commercial and industry partners, the MTS-A HD aims to accelerate deployment while reducing production costs. The modular design allows for cost-effective upgrades on over 400 U.S. Navy helicopters already using Raytheon’s MTS sensors.

“This next-generation sensor gives naval aircrews unmatched visual clarity in dangerous environments,” said Bryan Rosselli, president of Advanced Products & Solutions at Raytheon. “It ensures faster, smarter decision-making in real time.”

The MTS-A HD has also generated strong international interest, including from Australia, Denmark, Saudi Arabia, India, South Korea, and several European nations, positioning it as a global maritime ISR solution.
