Aviation News July 25, 2025 – Etihad Airways has officially received its first Airbus A321LR aircraft, the first of 30 set to join its expanding fleet. The delivery ceremony took place at Airbus’ facility in Finkenwerder, Germany, signaling a major advancement in Etihad’s fleet modernization strategy.
This next-generation single-aisle aircraft brings long-haul luxury to short and medium-haul routes, featuring Etihad’s first-ever narrowbody First Class Suites—private spaces with sliding doors, fully-flat beds, 20-inch 4K screens, wireless charging, and Bluetooth connectivity.
The Business Class cabin includes 14 widebody-style seats in a 1-1 herringbone layout, each offering aisle access, 17.3-inch 4K screens, and full connectivity. Meanwhile, the 144-seat Economy Class offers ample legroom, 13.3-inch screens, and upgraded storage with larger overhead bins.
CEO Antonoaldo Neves highlighted the aircraft as a “game-changer” for passenger comfort and operational reach.
The A321LR also features Viasat-powered high-speed Wi-Fi with gate-to-gate coverage, enabling streaming, browsing, and productivity throughout the flight. Full rollout on Asian routes is expected by September 2025.
This delivery underscores Etihad’s commitment to premium service and marks a new era of innovation in narrowbody air travel.
