Berlin, June 5 — A Ryanair flight en route from Berlin to Milan was forced to make an emergency landing on Wednesday evening after encountering severe turbulence that left eight passengers and one crew member injured.
The incident occurred approximately 45 minutes after takeoff, when the Boeing 737 was caught in a violent storm. The pilots diverted the aircraft to Memmingen Airport in Bavaria, where it landed safely. Emergency services were on standby to assist the injured.
Three of the injured, including a young child, were transported to a local hospital for further treatment. The remaining injured passengers received medical attention at the airport.
A total of 179 passengers and six crew members were on board the flight. Due to the severity of the turbulence and the diversion, the aircraft was not cleared to continue its journey to Milan on Wednesday night. The flight eventually resumed and reached its destination on Thursday morning.
