Naval Air Station Patuxent River, Maryland – June 25, 2025 Northrop Grumman Corporation has announced that its latest MQ-4C Triton unmanned aircraft is currently undergoing evaluation by the U.S. Navy’s Naval Air Systems Command. As part of the process, the aircraft will complete calibration and additional testing before being delivered to an operational naval unit.

The MQ-4C Triton stands as the world’s leading unmanned platform for maritime intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, and targeting (ISR&T). Developed for both the U.S. Navy and the Royal Australian Air Force, the Triton is manufactured at Northrop Grumman’s facility in Palmdale, California.

Designed to support a broad range of mission types—including maritime patrol, signals intelligence, and search and rescue—Triton provides continuous, high-altitude surveillance. Its capabilities enable real-time data collection that improves threat assessment, enhances operational planning, and strengthens joint-force coordination.

To date, Northrop Grumman has produced 20 Triton aircraft for the U.S. Navy.
