Peach Aviation to Become Japan’s First Operator of the A321XLR
Paris, June 2025 – ANA Holdings (ANAHD) has officially finalized a firm order with Airbus for a total of 27 single-aisle aircraft, including 24 A321neo and three A321XLR models. The signing ceremony took place during the 2025 Paris Air Show, with Koji Shibata, Representative Director, President & CEO of ANAHD, and Benoît de Saint-Exupéry, EVP Sales for Airbus Commercial Aircraft, in attendance.
This new order includes 14 A321neo aircraft for All Nippon Airways (ANA) and an additional 10 A321neo along with three A321XLR for Peach Aviation, ANAHD’s low-cost carrier. The purchase is part of ANAHD’s broader fleet modernization and sustainability strategy.
With this order, Peach Aviation will become the first Japanese airline to operate the A321XLR, the longest-range single-aisle aircraft in the world, capable of flying up to 4,700 nautical miles (8,700 km) non-stop.
“We are pleased to confirm this order for additional A321neo and to introduce the A321XLR into our group. This decision reflects our continued partnership with Airbus and our goal to enhance our fleet with fuel-efficient, next-generation aircraft,” said Koji Shibata. “We are committed to delivering exceptional service while reducing CO₂ emissions through the deployment of advanced aircraft technologies.”
“ANA has been a valued Airbus customer since 1987, with an order book approaching 100 aircraft. The inclusion of the A321XLR for Peach Aviation highlights ANA’s forward-thinking approach and continued confidence in the A320 Family,” said Benoît de Saint-Exupéry. “We look forward to supporting both ANA and Peach as they expand their networks with these new aircraft.”
Currently, ANA operates 33 A320 Family aircraft, while Peach Aviation operates 36. This latest order will further strengthen ANA Group’s single-aisle capabilities across both domestic and regional routes.
