Dutchman (104) who flew for British Royal Air Force in WWII died

André Hissink

André Hissink died January 1 at the age of 104. He was a pilot in the 320 Dutch Squadron during World War II. That consisted of Dutchmen who had escaped from German-occupied areas and wanted to join the Allied forces.

As a bomb aimer and navigator on a B-25 Mitchell bomber, he was involved in several bombing missions in Holland, France, Belgium and Germany. Hissink performed more than sixty wartime flights. For his operations, he was awarded the Flying Cross.
