The Belize Ministry of National Defense and Border Security has received a Cessna Grand Caravan EX aircraft from Textron Aviation Inc. for a particular assignment. The United States Army Contracting Command, Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, Alabama, carried out the Foreign Military Selling (FMS) contract.
The Textron Aviation division of Textron Inc. is responsible for the design and production of the Cessna Grand Caravan EX aircraft.
Grand Caravan EX will be used as a multi-mission platform for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR), casualty evacuation (CASEVAC), search and rescue (SAR), air mobility, light air drop, and other operations as needed, according to Belize Ministry of National Defense and Border Security.

Bob Gibbs, vice president of Special Mission Sales, explained that the Grand Caravan EX will be used as a multi-mission platform for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR), casualty evacuation (CASEVAC), search and rescue (SAR), air mobility, light air drop, and other operations as needed. The Ministry of National Defense and Border Security of Belize’s first Caravan EX is currently in operation.
The Electro-Optical/Infra-Red (EO/IR) sensor, operator mission console, tactical radios, and data link are all installed in this Grand Caravan EX. Training for pilots, mission operators, and maintenance technicians will be provided by Textron Aviation, along with a local field service agent.
