Farnborough International Airshow deletes public weekend in 2020

Farnborough

They’re making a big change at the Farnborough International Airshow and taking the show back to its roots as an industry trade event. This means that in 2020, the Airshow will run from Monday 20 July until Friday 24 July as normal but the public weekend will no longer be running.

This decision has not been taken lightly and they understand that the public weekend has been a part of many people’s lives for a long time and we’ve been lucky to have enjoyed so much support. However the world has changed and the show needs to evolve to ensure we continue to represent the global aerospace industry in the appropriate way.

Although this marks an end to this aspect of the Airshow, it is an opportunity for them to create a more engaging event for young people and the public on Friday of the trade show.

The Airshow has an important role to play in inspiring the next generation and providing future pilots, engineers and innovators with an insight into the industries we represent. They look forward to welcoming the public and young people with a showcase of technology on display in the exhibition halls which were previously closed over the public weekend. And there will of course be a flying display.
