Baltic Aviation Academy Approved to Provide Zero Flight Time Training

Aviation training centre Baltic Aviation Academy (Lithuania) expanded its capability list by introducing Zero Flight Time Training program (ZFTT), enabling base training program, carried out in an actual aircraft, be conducted in the full flight simulator. Baltic Aviation Academy is the first type rating training organization (TRTO) in the Baltic region approved to provide zero flight time training.

Zero Flight Time Training (ZFTT) program is the high regulatory standard oriented to experienced pilots moving to the aircraft types of similar characteristics to the ones already operated. After the completion of type rating training theoretical and practical courses, the pilot is required to pass the Base Training program – the special flight training program in the actual aircraft. The ZFTT program lets experienced pilots to pass their base training by the use of high-quality full flight simulator.

An approval certificate to provide Zero Flight Time Training (ZFTT) was issued to the Baltic Aviation Academy by Lithuanian Civil Aviation Administration on April 15, 2011.

“The demand for Zero Flight Time Training is booming as carrying out pilots’ practical trainings in actual aircrafts as Boeing 747 or Airbus A320 for the airlines is very expensive. Full-flight simulators are replicas of specific aircraft cockpits, that is the reason most experienced pilots are allowed to take their base trainings in the simulators instead of the actual aircrafts. We are glad to make type rating training process for our clients faster and less expensive.”,- told Egle Vaitkeviciute, Chief Executive Officer of Baltic Aviation Academy.

Zero Flight Time Training (ZFTT) program applies to Full Flight Simulators of the higher international regulatory Levels C and D. After graduating from the zero flight time trainings pilot’s first flight may be held on the revenue flights under the supervision of an already-qualified training captain.

Practical trainings at the Baltic Aviation Academy are held through a range of European flight simulation centers network. Baltic Aviation Academy operates 11 full flight simulators (FFS) in 7 countries.  The aviation training centre provides type rating training courses for Boeing 737 CL, Boeing 737 NG, Boeing 757, Boeing 767, Saab 340/2000, Airbus A320, ATR 42-72, Bombardier CRJ 100/200, Bombardier CRJ 700/900 aircrafts and the initial pilot training school (FTO) courses.  Training programs for new aircraft types are being implemented regularly.
