DUBAI – State-owned Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) was “in negotiation” with Boeing and Airbus regarding its aircraft orders, the emirate’s finance chief said on Thursday.
“It’s in negotiation,” said Abdelrahman al Saleh director general of Dubai’s Department of Finance, when asked on a recent report by a French daily saying DAE may be forced to renegotiate some 220 aircraft orders due to the emirate’s financial woes.
DAE ordered 118 aircraft from Boeing in 2007 and 100 planes from Airbus, the paper had said, adding that deliveries of the A320s should have started already.
Saleh was speaking to reporters at an airport opening event in Dubai.
