Gripen secures safety for presidents

Czech Air Force Gripen fighters patrolled the airspace above the capital Prague when the presidents of the USA and Russia recently visited the city.

When the U S and Russian presidents, Barack Obama and Dmitry Medvedev, last week signed the new nuclear strategic arms reducing treaty in Prague, a large number of security measures were taken in the country. One measure to increase the safety was to patrol the Czech airspace with a pair of Czech Air Force single seater Gripen fighters during the arrival and departure of the presidents.
