Aviation News – JSX, the United States’ leading public charter air carrier, has unveiled its first ATR 42-600 aircraft at Santa Monica Airport, marking a major step in its fleet expansion strategy. The move matters as it strengthens JSX’s bolt into the premium regional market with efficient aircraft tailored for semi-private travel.
The aircraft was showcased during a special ceremony celebrating the growing partnership behind the program, following the ATR 42-600’s entry into service in December on the Santa Monica–Las Vegas route. JSX, a five-time winner of the Airline Passenger Experience Association’s “5-Star Regional Airline” award, plans to build on this early milestone by expanding its ATR fleet as part of a broader growth strategy heading into 2026.
Configured with just 30 seats, the ATR 42-600 is designed to blend regional efficiency with a premium passenger experience. The aircraft offers business-class legroom, spacious cabins, power outlets, and complimentary onboard amenities, with high-speed internet connectivity planned pending certification. This setup allows JSX to operate from smaller airports while maintaining the comfort and convenience associated with private-style air travel.
