Aviation News – Canada has chosen six Bombardier Global 6500 business jets to modernize the Royal Canadian Air Force’s multi-mission transport capabilities, reinforcing national security and global support operations.
The decision adds a new generation of long-range aircraft to the RCAF inventory, following the formal selection of the Global 6500 platform to enhance strategic mobility and specialized mission support. Bombardier, Canada’s leading aircraft manufacturer, will supply the jets, which will bolster the nation’s capacity for aeromedical evacuation, humanitarian deployment, and rapid-response tasks at home and abroad.
The Global 6500 offers extended range, improved fuel efficiency, and advanced avionics, enabling crews to operate across continents with high reliability. Its adaptable cabin layout supports medical equipment, relief cargo, and mission personnel, allowing seamless transitions between transport and emergency roles.
