Aviation News – Belgium has ordered five additional Airbus H145 helicopters, strengthening both its Police Air Support Unit and the Armed Forces as part of a broader fleet modernization effort.
Belgium’s latest procurement brings the total H145 order to 22 aircraft—15 designated for the Air Force and 7 for the Police. The new police helicopters will replace the ageing fleet of two MD520s and five MD902s, marking a full transition to the H145 platform across national air support operations.
The H145 is a versatile twin-engine helicopter widely used for policing, medical evacuation, and military missions. Its compact footprint, advanced avionics, and low operating costs are expected to enhance operational readiness and improve the efficiency of both police and military air units.
