Airbus Defence and Space has partnered with U.S.-based Kratos Defense & Security Solutions to develop a European variant of the Kratos XQ-58A Valkyrie drone, outfitted with a mission system designed by Airbus. The low-observable, rail-launched uncrewed aircraft can operate autonomously or with manned jets, carrying kinetic or electronic payloads. With a range of 3,000 miles and a ceiling of 45,000 feet, the Valkyrie will be combat-ready for the German Air Force by 2029. This collaboration aims to strengthen Europe’s defense capabilities and NATO ties through proven technology and a sovereign, multi-platform integration system.
