FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. — On June 6, 2025, the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) revealed a 1/8th scale model of the MV-75 Future Long Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) in a special ceremony held at division headquarters.
The event, hosted in the atrium at Fort Campbell, marked a pivotal moment in the evolution of Army aviation.Timed to coincide with the anniversary of D-Day—a date deeply woven into the legacy of the Screaming Eagles—the unveiling honored the division’s historic roots while offering a vision of its high-tech future.Brig. Gen. Travis McIntosh, deputy commanding general for support, emphasized the strategic leap forward the MV-75 .
“The MV-75 is a bold leap toward the future of vertical envelopment,” McIntosh stated. “For the 101st — a division built on legacy and driven by innovation — this aircraft isn’t just a machine. It’s a commitment: when America calls, the Screaming Eagles will answer, ready to strike with twice the speed and range of current capabilities.
”The MV-75 model, designed as part of the Army’s FLRAA program, symbolizes a new era of rapid deployment and air mobility. It reflects advancements that will redefine how the division projects power globally, meeting emerging threats with speed, flexibility, and precision.
The event drew senior military leaders, Soldiers, and aviation professionals, all gathered to witness the unveiling of what many consider the future face of Army vertical lift operations. The MV-75 is expected to bring unprecedented performance and operational reach, reshaping how the U.S. Army conducts air assault missions for decades to come.
The Bell V-280 Valor, now officially designated as the MV-75, is a tiltrotor aircraft currently under development by Bell Helicopter for the United States Army as part of its Future Vertical Lift (FVL) program.
