Global Medical Response Expands Fleet with New Bell 407GXi Helicopters for Critical Care

Aviation News – Global Medical Response has placed a purchase order for additional Bell 407GXi helicopters from Bell Textron Inc. to bolster its nationwide helicopter air ambulance fleet, significantly expanding rapid medical access for patients in rural and urban communities alike.

The announcement was made during the annual Air Medical Transport Conference (AMTC), marking the continuation of a long-standing partnership between Bell and the nation’s largest emergency medical services provider. Global Medical Response, trading under NYSE: GMRS, operates an extensive network of air and ground assets across the United States, currently managing the largest Bell helicopter air ambulance fleet with more than 170 Bell aircraft supporting critical life-saving missions nationwide.

As the leading EMS provider, GMR specializes in delivering high-quality, time-sensitive prehospital care, connecting patients in hard-to-reach and remote areas with advanced medical facilities where rapid transport is essential for survival. The newly ordered aircraft will be integrated directly into GMR‘s existing operational network, further reinforcing emergency medical infrastructure and ensuring consistent regional coverage for communities that rely heavily on airborne healthcare solutions.

The Bell 407GXi delivers advanced operational capabilities tailored specifically for medical flight crews, featuring exceptional reliability, high cruise speed, and fuel efficiency that make it an ideal platform for urgent air ambulance missions. Equipped with modern flight deck technology and Garmin G1000H NXi avionics, the aircraft reduces pilot workload and enhances situational awareness during high-stress rescue operations, allowing flight crews to focus entirely on patient care.

“GMR is recognized around the world for delivering high-quality, time-sensitive emergency medical services, and we are honored that they continue to place their trust in Bell,” said Danny Maldonado, president and CEO of Bell. “The 407GXi’s combination of reliability, speed, and efficiency makes it an ideal platform for air medical operators. We are proud to support GMR’s life-saving missions and the crews who rely on Bell aircraft every day.”
