Aviation News – The U.S. Department of State approved a potential Foreign Military Sale to the Government of Denmark for 3 MH-60R Seahawk helicopters and support equipment valued at $425 million. The deal strengthens NATO alliance security and enhances maritime defense capabilities across Northern Europe.

The Danish government formally requested the purchase of three MH-60R multi-mission helicopters to bolster its maritime operational coverage. The package includes related systems, spares, and logistical support designed to integrate into current military infrastructure. The procurement occurs within a broader U.S. military assistance effort, advancing international security goals and maintaining military stability throughout Europe.

The MH-60R Seahawk provides essential multi-role capabilities, functioning as a primary tactical naval platform. Fitted with sensors, radars, and weapon integration systems, the aircraft handles anti-submarine warfare, anti-surface warfare, and search-and-rescue duties. Operation from frigates and support ships enables rapid deployment across challenging environments, including the North Atlantic and Arctic sectors.

“This proposed sale will support the foreign policy and national security of the United States by helping to improve the security of a NATO ally,” stated the Defense Security Cooperation Agency.

Integrating three additional MH-60R Seahawk units enhances Danish Defence force structure, ensuring long-term readiness alongside allied operational fleets. Incorporating the helicopters supports NATO interoperability and reinforces security across critical maritime zones.

The agreement strengthens Denmark’s air-to-sea capabilities for decades while ensuring seamless operational coordination with American and international forces. Denmark expands its maritime security presence, maintaining critical readiness standards for global and homeland defense missions.
