Aviation News – The Direction Générale de l’Armement (DGA) has officially accepted the development model and the first two Falcon 2000LXS Albatros maritime surveillance and intervention aircraft. This milestone delivery marks a major operational advancement for the French Navy under the flagship AVSIMAR program.
Launched in 2020, the AVSIMAR program establishes a comprehensive fleet renewal strategy that will see a total of twelve aircraft delivered to French forces by 2031. Dassault Aviation, alongside its key industrial partners across the French defense sector, expressed deep appreciation to the Ministry of the Armed Forces, the French Navy, and the DGA for their continued trust and strategic vision throughout the project’s development phase.
The development phase brought together premier aerospace and defense leaders, with Dassault Aviation directing the platform integration in close cooperation with Naval Group, Safran, and Thales. Built upon the widely successful Falcon 2000LXS business jet platform—a mature series with hundreds of operational units deployed globally—this specialized variant delivers high operational versatility and mission readiness.
Engineered for extended overwater operations, the Falcon 2000 Albatros features a under-fuselage multifunction radar, a high-performance optronic turret, dedicated observation windows, and integrated communication systems. Equipped with an onboard Search & Rescue (SAR) chain-dropping system, a 7,400 km range, high transit speed, and low-speed flight stability, the platform monitors vast oceanic zones and executes precise, rapid long-range interventions.
