The Nimitz-class nuclear-powered supercarrier has completed its scheduled shipyard maintenance period to restore its full operational capability and extend its service life.
Commissioned on July 12, 2003, and christened by former First Lady Nancy Reagan, the vessel was named in honor of the 40th U.S. President, Ronald Reagan.
