Aviation News – Aviation Capital Group (ACG) has signed long-term lease agreements with Canadian carrier WestJet for thirteen Boeing 737-10 aircraft. The multi-aircraft agreement supports the airline’s fleet expansion and represents a key step in its broader renewal strategy.
The high-profile agreement, finalized on July 14, 2026, builds upon a growing partnership between the Newport Beach-based lessor and the Calgary-headquartered airline. This transaction follows ACG’s successful delivery of two Boeing 737-8 jets to WestJet in February of this year. The new aircraft are sourced directly from the lessor’s extensive orderbook to provide additional flight capacity across Canada and key international routes.
Both aviation firms maintain a massive commitment to the 737-10 variant, commanding over 140 of the single-aisle aircraft combined on order. ACG expects to deliver the world’s very first 737-10 from its order backlog to WestJet once the aircraft type achieves final certification. This strategic placement allows the carrier to dynamically scale its operations in response to rising passenger demand.
The 737-10 represents the largest narrowbody jet in Boeing’s modern single-aisle line-up, carrying up to 230 passengers. It features state-of-the-art CFM LEAP-1B engines designed to lower fuel burn and carbon emissions by roughly 20 percent compared to older fleets. By incorporating these efficient models, WestJet will significantly lower its cost per seat while maintaining operational commonality across its existing Boeing narrowbody fleet.
