Aviation News – The U.S. Air Force has officially received the VC-25B Bridge aircraft, which has arrived at the Presidential Airlift Group and will begin its initial commissioning flights. The delivery provides a secure executive transport platform designed to maintain uninterrupted presidential airlift operations while the next-generation VC-25B fleet continues development.
Fresh from receiving its new red, white, and blue livery and final government modifications, the aircraft has entered service as an interim solution to support the transportation needs of the commander in chief. The aircraft’s arrival comes at a critical time as the existing VC-25A fleet faces increasing maintenance demands due to age and operational use.
The Bridge aircraft was selected to help ensure continuity of operations during the transition period before the long-term Boeing VC-25B program reaches full operational service. By adding another secure executive transport platform to the fleet, the Air Force can better manage aircraft availability while reducing operational pressure on the current presidential airlift assets.
The aircraft incorporates specialized government modifications and secure communications systems required for presidential missions. Its introduction strengthens mission readiness by providing additional capacity for executive transport while ensuring critical command-and-control functions remain available during domestic and international travel.
