Aviation News – Florida-based aircraft lessor Azorra has successfully acquired an orderbook of eight Airbus A220-300 aircraft from Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE). This strategic transaction strengthens Azorra’s portfolio of next-generation narrowbody aircraft and expands its global footprint in the regional leasing market.
The agreement involves a transition of high-demand assets, including two Airbus A220-300 aircraft that are already operational and on lease to TAAG Angola Airlines. By acquiring this orderbook from Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE), Azorra continues its rapid growth trajectory within the next-generation narrowbody segment, focusing on fuel-efficient and technologically advanced aircraft.
The selection of the A220-300 aligns with the industry’s shift toward modernizing fleets with versatile, smaller-capacity jets that offer superior economics. This deal follows a series of expansion moves by Azorra, as the company leverages its strong capital position to secure delivery slots for aircraft that are increasingly difficult for airlines to source directly from manufacturers.
