Aviation News – JetSetGo has signed a deal with Vertical Aerospace to purchase up to 50 electric Valo aircraft and jointly roll out advanced air mobility services across India, a move that could bolt the country toward cleaner, faster regional air travel.
The agreement, formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding on 5 February 2026, sets the framework for the two companies to build route networks, define operating models and work with regulators to introduce electric and hybrid-electric aircraft into commercial service. JetSetGo, one of India’s largest private aviation operators, will partner with UK-based Vertical Aerospace, which is developing next-generation electric aircraft aimed at short regional and urban connections.
The Valo aircraft is designed for zero-emission flights of up to 160 kilometres at speeds reaching 240 km/h, targeting city-to-city hops and congested corridors where ground travel is slow. Vertical says the platform meets airliner-level safety standards, while a hybrid-electric variant under development will extend range and improve flexibility for longer missions and diverse operating conditions across India.
“This partnership brings together JetSetGo’s operational expertise and our electric aircraft technology to accelerate the introduction of safe, quiet and sustainable air mobility in India,” a Vertical Aerospace spokesperson said. “Valo is built to make regional air travel cleaner and more accessible.”
If realised, the collaboration could help establish one of the largest electric air taxi networks in Asia, positioning India as a key early market for advanced air mobility. The companies will now focus on certification, infrastructure planning and regulatory approvals before commercial services begin.
