Aviation News – Raytheon, an RTX business, has secured a $197 million U.S. Air Force contract to deliver advanced MS-110 multispectral reconnaissance systems to the Polish Air Force, marking a significant boost to NATO’s intelligence capabilities. The deal matters as Poland becomes the first NATO member to field this next-generation airborne surveillance technology.
The contract was awarded by the U.S. Air Force Life Cycle Management Center and covers production, aircraft integration and engineering support for seven MS-110 reconnaissance pods. Poland is the first NATO country and the fourth air force worldwide to acquire the system, with work beginning immediately and completion scheduled for August 2031. Development and integration activities will be carried out in Westford, Massachusetts, reinforcing long-term industrial cooperation between the United States and allied partners.
The MS-110 system combines advanced hardware and software with artificial intelligence and machine learning to rapidly process day-and-night, wide-area and long-range imagery. Using multispectral imaging and common ground coverage across all bands, the system delivers sharper intelligence at extended ranges, offering a clear operational advantage over legacy sensors. The pod can be bolt-mounted on a wide range of platforms, including advanced fighter jets, maritime patrol aircraft, special mission aircraft and medium-altitude long-endurance drones.
