Aviation News – Turkey successfully demonstrated a coordinated unmanned naval–air operation in the Mediterranean, highlighting a major milestone in its expanding indigenous defense capabilities.
In a test aligned with the Turkish Naval Forces’ operational needs, an ASELSAN Albatros-S Unmanned Surface Vehicle (USV) was remotely commanded via the data link of a Bayraktar TB3 UCAV launched from the flagship TCG Anadolu. The exercise, witnessed by foreign military delegations, showcased advanced integration between Turkey’s domestically developed unmanned platforms. The demonstration took place during planned activities aboard TCG Anadolu.
The operation featured the TB3 taking off from the ship’s deck, establishing control over the Albatros-S, and directing it to neutralize a designated target at sea. This joint engagement underscored expanding multi-domain coordination capabilities using unmanned assets and strengthened the “Blue Homeland” operational doctrine.
